Dr. Lauren Montemorano, MD

Dr. Montemorano is a Gynecologic Oncologist at the Center of Hope, dedicated to providing personalized care that aligns with each patient’s unique perspective, circumstances, and goals. She specializes in treating endometrial, ovarian, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancers, offering comprehensive care including surgery, chemotherapy, clinical trials, and palliative care. In addition, she cares for patients with complex gynecologic surgical needs and hereditary cancer syndromes.

Dr. Montemorano holds a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and anthropology from the University of Rochester. She earned her medical degree from the University of Virginia, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at The Ohio State University, followed by a three-year fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Wisconsin.

Her primary research interests focus on vulvar cancer and ovarian cancer genomics, and she is actively involved in publishing her work in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at national conferences. With a strong passion for communication education and medical humanities, she also serves on the palliative care committee for the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO).

Originally from a small rural town in upstate New York, Dr. Montemorano has deep family ties to Reno and is grateful for the opportunity to serve the local community. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, outdoor activities, and spending quality time with family and friends.
